This was a great night of racing and freestyle competiton for the IMJRA Monster Drags here at the Ultradome. Anyone who is familiar with the track knows that it`s a great place for monster truck racing. Tonight 6 trucks would be on hand to compete. The current racing points leader driving the team bigfoot T-Wrecks, Cory Schwab. The current freestyle points leader C.J. Bar driving The chevy Wrechead.com. Max is here hoping to continue with his great racing performances in Spiderman. Dan DeFalco is trying to recover from his bad luck in racing tonight in Grave Digger. The last 2 drivers here are here for there first Monster Drags race. Flare makes his debut driving The Bigfoot f-350 superduty truck, and Mike Sossin debuts with the Bulldozer machine. |
RACING |
After qualifying was done, the first two trucks would line up for head to head racing. Cory Schwab in T-Wrecks would go up against Dan DeFalco in Grave Digger. This is an opposite side starting and finishing track Both truks were even off the line, but Grave Digger had some problems getting thorugh the turn, and T-Wrecks would get the win. Now for the next race, Max and Spiderman would face off against mike sossin and Bulldozer. Max has been having some great racing in the past races, This would be the first heat Mike Sossin raced in at a monster drags competiton. And to the fan`s surprise Mike Sossin would get the win over Max. The next race was Flare driving the ford Bigfoot, going up against C.J. Bar`s chevrolet Wrechead.com. The Chevy would take out the ford as C.J. Bar would get the win. For the next race, it would be Grave Digger against Bigfoot to see who would take the fastest loser spot in the final four. Dan was still havin porblems in the turn, getting into a turning pole and that would give the win to Flare and Bigfoot. So for the final four, it`s gonna be Bulldozer taking on Bigfoot, and Wrechead.com vs. T-Wrecks. So the two Monster Drags rookies would face off to see who would get into the finals. Bulldozer was flying off the line and had a great run, and was able to knock off Bigfoot. And for the 2nd semi-final race, Cory Schwab put C.J. Bar on the trailer by beating him with a great run. So here comes the finals, Could Mike Sossin and Bulldozer pull of a win on his first Monster Drags race, well he wouldn`t have it easy, because he would face the racing points leader, Cory Schwab and T-Wrecks. Both trucks got off to a great start, but it was Mike Sossin and Bulldozer, pulling off the upset win over Cory Schwab and T-Wrecks. |
FREESTYLE |
The Monster trucks had a great freestyle course to attack, and the crowd would be treated to some great freestyle. Max`s Spiderman truck was damaged during racing, so he ran freestyle again without a body. Max had a great opening run, scoring a 17. Then C.J. Bar had engine problems with Wrechead, but luckily he brought his backup truck with him, Austin 3:16. C.J. ran the black wrestilng dodge hard and had a great run, but his run scored a 17 which tied Max`s score. Mike Sossin did not make a run in the freestyle competiton tonight, so Flare would go next driving Bigfoot. The Big blue F-350 ran well with it`s ford flags hanging from the back. Flare got some nice air and got a score of 20. then Dan DeFalco would make his run, but ended it a little earlier than planned and he got a 12. Cory Schwab would make a nice run but didnt have enough to knock off Bigfoot, Cory would get a 16. So the two Monster Drags rookies each got a win. Mike Sossin gets the racing win, and Flare gets the freestyle win. |
