Newcomer Aaron Cromer was signed on this year by Team Grave Digger to drive the Blacksmith willy's and he had a great day of racing, but he was defeated by teammate and team owner Dan DeFalco in Grave Digger. Grave Digger would move on to the finals. GDXXI In Avenger would then go on to defeat a fast funning Robbie Milburn in Carolina Crusher, making it Grave Digger vs. Avenger in the final |
Tough to see, but it was a close race, Grave Digger had the upper hand with having lane choice, both runs were fast but Grave Digger out-edged Avenger by about half of a tire, Dan DeFalco would get the win and the early points lead, congratulations to the Grave Digger team on the win.
Some of the monster trucks then came out to put on a freestyle for the fans, here are some pictures from today's freestyle competition. |
Kyle DeFalco grabs some big air during his freestyle run in Black Stallion. |
Bull jumps the bus setup in the new El Toro Loco |
Aaron Cromer on the way down after getting some great air over the second school bus setup in Black Smith |
Dan DeFalco iron walls the cars in Grave Digger. Dan got the season started off right by putting the reliable Digger #14 in victory lane right off the bat and is trying to pull off another championship after coming off a shaky winter season. |
This is all from Daytona, it's been a great day of racing and next week, it's off to the Indiana State Fairgrounds for week 2 of monster truck racing. Grave Digger has the early points lead, but that can all change next week so be sure to check back for the 4 Wheel Truck Fest Nationals at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. |
