SEASON OPENER IPMS GRAND JAM--- for the first time in Monseter Drags history the monster trucks of the IMJRA roar into the IPMS Grand Jam for the season opener for the first ever season of the IMJRA Monster Drags. Today, 5 trucks were on hand to compete-- Dan DeFalco (Grave Digger 14) , Cory Schwab (T-Wrecks) , Adam Cowell (Predator) , C.J. Bar (Wrechead.com) , and Urchc_redcap (Overkill). Also Kyle DeFalco and Wolverine and James Soutar and Ramage were scheduled to be there but could not make it. This event was only open to 4 trucks so the slowest qualifyer would not be able to compete. Qualifying was up first. Here are the Qualifying times-- T-wrecks (13.66), Wrechead.com (14.47) Grave Digger (14.49) Predator (14.50) Overkill (17.13). Overkill with a dissapointing qualifying run would not make the competiton. First round racing was Cory Scwab and the team Bigfoot T-Wrecks, going up against Adam Cowell in Predator. The green light came on and off they went, T-Wrecks the fastest qualifyer had a lead, but Predator was right with him. they get down to the final turn and jump of the G shaped course and its T-Wrecks winning. Now for the second race. Its gonna be C. J Bar and Wrechead.com, going up against Dan DeFalco and Grave Digger.The green light showed and they were off. Dan and Grave Digger out with the early lead and Dan and Grave Digger will get the win. This set up the finals, Dan DeFalco in Grave Digger 14 vs. Cory Schwab in T-Wrecks. Cory had lane choice because of his fast qualifying time.He put Dan in the lane that would make 2 left turns.Dan wasnt comfortable in this lane, and all the wins so far have come from the other lane where you make two right turns.A good stragety by cory. The green light came on and they were off. who could win the first Monster Drags t. They come out of the final turn and into the jump, both trucks getting majot air, and the first ever winner in the IMJRA Monster Drags is... Cory Schwab and T-WRECKS!!!. a special congratulations goes out to cory and his truck. |
CFREESTYLE--- the monster trucks had a great freestyle course to attack with a school bus dirt jumps crush cars and a straight line of about 5 vans. Ther were only 2 judges so 20 was the highest score. Hopes of Cory Schwab and T-Wrecks making a racing/freestyle sweep were cut short. He did not freestyle. So the first truck was up, C.J. Bar and Wrechead.com. He starts off with great air, hitting about everything the track. Then he lines up to hit the school bus and hits it a little crooked and flips over backwards over the tailgate. C.J. and Wrechead.com would get a score of 15. Now it was Adam Cowell`s turn in Predator to show the fans at the IPMS Grand Jam what he could do. He comes flying out on the floor dissapointed from his first round loss in racing and is trying to make up that loss in freestyle. Getting some nice sky whellies and getting some major aire off the dirt double and using all of his time. A strong freestyle by Adam and it will get him a score of 16. One point higher then Wrechead and Predator is in the lead. But we still got one truck to go, and that is Dan DeFalco and Grave Digger 14.He just missed getting a racing win in his own series and is trying to pull off a great freestyle. Dan comes out htiing the crush cars first getting some nice air and then hits the dirt doubles. But it all goes wrong here, Dan goes to hit the line of about 5 vans and didnt have enough speed and couldnt clear the set. The rear tires hit the last van a the truck flips. A Short run for Dan DeFalco and Grave Digger, too short and he gets a dissapointing score of 8. So the first ever winner in Monster Drags Freestyle is Adam Cowell and Predator!!!!!!!
